About Us

How We Can Help

Every child comes to us with a unique combination of strengths, experiences, challenges, and ways of engaging with the world. Our role is not simply to identify what is difficult, but to understand what is happening beneath the surface that is impacting your child’s ability to feel and function at their best. Then we can determine what support will help your child most effectively.

We believe meaningful therapy connects directly to a child’s everyday life, and we help children participate more fully in the activities that matter most to them: playing, learning, connecting with others, navigating routines, trying new things, and feeling comfortable and confident in their own bodies.

Foundations and Skills We Support

Sensory Processing & Nervous System Regulation

Children experience the world through their sensory systems every moment of the day. When sensory information feels overwhelming, unpredictable, unclear or difficult to organize, it can impact a child’s participation, skill development, regulation, focus, and engagement.

We support children with differences in:

  • Auditory processing (sound)

  • Visual processing (sight)

  • Tactile processing (touch)

  • Vestibular processing (movement and balance)

  • Proprioceptive processing (body awareness)

  • Interoceptive awareness (internal body signals and emotional awareness)

  • Sensory modulation and discrimination

Emotional Regulation and Self-Awareness

This may include support with:

  • Regulation

  • Frustration tolerance

  • Flexibility and adaptability

  • Identifying and communicating needs

  • Recovering from challenging moments

  • High sensitivity

Movement & Motor Skill Development

Children build confidence through movement. We support children in developing the physical skills needed to explore their environment, engage in play, and participate more independently in daily life.

This may include:

  • Gross motor skills

  • Fine motor skills

  • Coordination

  • Body awareness

  • Motor planning

  • Praxis

  • Balance

  • Strength and endurance

  • Safety awareness

  • Handwriting

  • Visual motor integration

  • Visual perceptual skills

  • Everyday routines and self-care

Attention, Learning & Executive Functioning

Many children know what they want to do but have difficulty organizing the steps needed to get there. We help children develop strategies that support success at home, school, and in the community.

This may include:

  • Attention and focus

  • Initiating and completing tasks

  • Planning and organization

  • Problem-solving

  • Decision-making

  • Managing transitions

  • Following routines

  • Time awareness

  • Sequencing

  • Remembering and applying information

Feeding & Mealtime Support

Our approach is family centered and individualized, focused on creating positive, supportive experiences around food.

We support children experiencing:

  • Selective eating

  • Sensory-related feeding challenges

  • Difficulty exploring new foods

  • Challenges with mealtime participation

Neurodevelopmental Differences

We support children with a wide range of developmental differences, including:

  • Autism spectrum

  • Attentional challenges

  • Developmental and genetic differences

  • Premature birth

  • Learning differences

We approach every child as an individual, recognizing that a diagnosis provides information but does not define who a child is.

We offer:

Occupational therapy sessions and treatment planning

Each session at Sprout is individualized and unfolds based on meeting your child where they are, addressing regulation first, and then adapting play in real time so that we are addressing our established goals. Children generally experience therapy as engaging, fun, and joyful.

We take our time establishing goals and a treatment plan so that we can assure that our work is relevant, meaningful, and reflects your family’s priorities.

Parent Partnership

Parents are an essential part of the therapeutic process. Through regular parent conferences, ongoing communication, and collaborative goal-setting, we work together to support progress beyond the therapy room. We provide practical strategies, caregiver coaching, home program recommendations, and ongoing guidance to help families feel confident supporting their child’s development in everyday life.

Collaboration with your child’s team

We regularly partner with teachers, physicians, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, mental health providers, and other professionals to support the most holistic and informed approach for your child.

Home & School Support

When appropriate, we provide:

  • Home visits

  • Home program recommendations

  • School observations

  • Classroom consultations

  • Teacher collaboration

  • Classroom strategies and recommendations
